A store room with a toilet and a wash basin – that’s it – has failed to sell at auction. Not enough flush buyers?
The room, wedged between the first and second floors of a building with a cafe on its ground floor, was listed on Allsops auction catalogue as ‘other’ and described by them as “a store room situated on the rear half landing between first and second floors of a mid terrace building arranged over ground and four upper floors.”
It came with a lease of 125 years from 1st November 1995 (107 years unexpired) and a peppercorn ground rent.
But – weirdly – the thing failed to sell at the The Cumberland Hotel auction on 31st October.
We despair of London buyers, who clearly can’t recognise a bargain when they see one … come on people, get with the programme, there’s supposed to be a property boom going on out there.
